Jesus: ‘let us go to the other side of the lake’
They left crowd, got into boat, jesus already sitting

Suddenly strong winds, waves spill over boat
‘Teacher don’t you care if we die?’
Commanded ‘quiet, be still’
Wind died down, great calm
Jesus ‘why are u frightened have you still no faith?’
‘Who is this man, even wind and waves obey him!’

The Baptism
Jesus came from Nazareth Baptized by John in the Jordan As soon as Jesus came up of the water Heaven opened Spirit coming down on him like a dove Voice from heaven said,'you are my own dear Son. I am pleased with you.'
The temptation
At once the spirit made him go to the dessert Stayed 40 days Beigg tempted by satan Wild animals were there But angels came and helped him

Jesus & the 12 went to villages near CP
Jesus: ‘tell me, who do people say I am?’
12: ‘some say you are John the Baptist, others elijah, others one of the prophets’
Jesus: ‘what about you?’ Who do you say I am?’

He will be put to death but 3 days later rise to life
Peter took him aside and rebuked him
J: ‘get behind me Satan!’ Your thoughts do not come from God but from Human nature.’

A change came over Jesus, clothes became dazzling white
PJJ saw elijah and Moses talking with Jesus

They were so frightened he did not know what to say
Then a cloud appeared
‘This is my own dear Son. Listen to him!’
When they looked only Jesus was there

Jesus sent 2 disciples ahead
Instructions: ‘go to the village ahead. You will find a colt tied up, has never been ridden.
If someone asks, tell him that the Master needs it.’
So they did…
They answered just as Jesus told them
People threw cloaks, branches on the field
People shouted, ‘Praise God! Hossanah!’
Since it was already late he went out of the Bethany with the 12 disciples.’

While J was eating, woman came with alabaster full of perfume made if pure nard
Broke jar and poured perfume on J head
Some ppl became angry and said to one another, ‘what was the use of wasting the perfume? It could have been sold and money for the poor!’
Criticised her harshly
Jesus said,’leave her alone! She doing beautiful thing for me
You will always have poor but not always have me
Prepare it ahead of my burial
Whenever this gospel is told will be told in memory of her
Jesus in Gethsemane
In Gethsemane
Jesus said’ Sit here while I pray’
TOOK PJJ
distress and anguish over him ‘The sorrow in my heart is so great its almost crushing me. Sit here while I pray.’
Jesus threw himself on the ground ‘father take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet not what I want but want you want.’
Saw PJJ asleep ‘weren’t you able to stay awake for 1 hour.’ ‘keep watch do not fall into temptation, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak’
Asleep again did nit know what to say
Third time ‘Enough! The hour has come son of man handed to sinners.’
Judas ‘The man I kiss is who you want’
‘Teacher!’ Kissed
Trial before the High Priest

Peter followed from a distance
Sat down kept warm with guards
Chief priests tried to find evidence but could not find evidence
Witnesses accounts did not agree
‘We heard him say that he will tear down the temple and rebuild it in 3 days’
Jesus kept quiet
‘Are you the messiah?’

Guilty and spat and should be put to death

He saved others but he cannot save himself!’

Look he is calling for Elijah

Man: i know you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth now go and give this message to the disciples including peter he will be in galilee ahead’
So they did they were distressed and terrified
Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene
After he rose on Sunday He appeared first to Mary Magdalene Whom he drove out 7 demons They were mourning and crying When they heard her say that Jesus was alive they did not believe her
Appearance to 2 disciples
Appeared while on their way to the country
They returned but none would believe
