      • bleeding due to heat, cold, excess, xu

KEY CHARACTERISTICS: restrains to stop bleeding, reduces swelling, generates flesh

ACTIONS & INDICATIONS:

  • restrains leakage of blood & stops bleeding
    • mainly bleeding from LU & ST - vomit/cough blood
      • LU cancer or ST peptic ulcers
    • bleeding associated with traumatic injury - local application
  • reduces swelling & generates flesh
    • applied topically for sores, ulcers

OTHER NOTES:

  • becasue it’s cooling you would think bleeding due to heat, but becasue it is astringent, its good for all bleeding regardless of cause
