Which section is stop and search contained in and what is it
Contained in section 1 of pace it gives the police the right to stop and search the public in a public place if they have reasonable suspicion
What can you be stopped and searched for under s.1 in a public place
You or you’re vehicle can be searched for stolen goods weapons or drugs
What must a police officer do before they search you
Provide name station and reason for the search. This is what was not done in osman v dpp 1999. The qbd ruled that it was an unlawful stop as they did not name themselves and all charges were dropped
Under pace s.2 (9) what can you be asked to remove
Outer jacket, coat and gloves.
What must be done at the end of the search
The officer must give a written report of the stop and anything taken from the search. This must me done as soon as reasonably possible

Under 2.2 pace code a
Things such as race age appearance or previous record can’t be the only reason for a stop and search it must be backed up with intelligence
