  • To protect distal anastamoses when removing CRC
  • Can be reversed
  • Most often in lower right abdomen
  • Two lumens
  • Spouted
  • Liquid stool contents

A
  • After APR
  • Permanent
  • Most often in lower left abdomen
  • Flush with skin
  • Produces stool just like an anus

  • Allow drainage of urine from kidney, bypassing the ureter, bladder and urethra
  • Ileal conduit urinary diversion - section of ileum taken and anastamosed to the ureters and the other end to the skin
