Acy = state of being something
Legacy: A legacy can be a gift from a family member or something handed down from the past.
Accuracy: The accuracy of something, such as an answer to a problem or a measurement of some kind, is how correct or close to the truth it actually is.
Aldair’s dad gave him a gift from his grandfather because his dad wanted him to pass on the legacy.
Agr = field, country
Agriculturist: Someone concerned with the science or art or business of cultivating the soil
Agrarianism: An equal or equitable division of landed property
Aldair gave his friend some land so they could both have Agrarianism.
Bene = come together, agree
Benefit: A benefit is a good thing or effect that you get from something.
Beneficence: Doing good
Aldair’s teacher said that he was a Beneficence in his class.
Chrom = color
Chrome: Plate with chromium
Achromatic: Having no color
Aldair got a new case for his phone which is Achromatic.
Crypt = hidden
Cryptogram: A piece of writing in code or cipher
Encrypt: Convert ordinary language into code
Aldair has tired of hackers reading his texts, so he encrypted his text.
Ence = state or condition
Absence: The state of being absent
Dependence: Being controlled by someone
Aldair had been absence from class because he was sick.
Ery = act or practice
Foolery: Foolish or senseless behavior
Surgery: The branch of medical science that treats disease by operative procedures
Aldair had to get surgery because he had something wrong in his body.
Facil = easy, easily accomplished
Difficult: Not easy or simple
Facility: A building or place that provides a particular service or is used for a particular industry
Aldair’s homework has been really difficult for him.
Gen = born, produced
Generation: All the people living at the same time or of approximately the same age
Generous: Willing to give and share unstintingly
Aldair’s generation was considered young on the internet.
Hyper = over, above
Hyperthermia: Condition of having a body temperature that is ‘over’ the normal
Hyperventilate: to breathe ‘over’ the normal rate
Aldair had a family member who had Hyperthermia.
Hypo = under, below
Hypothermia: Condition of having a ‘low’ body temperature
Hypotenuse: Side of a right triangle that is stretched ‘under’ the right angle
Aldair’s friend had Hypothermia when it was fall and winter.
Lev = light, of little weight
Lever: tool which makes a heavy object ‘light’ to lift
Elevator: that which makes a body ‘light’ enough to be raised
Aldair had to ride an Elevator to the top floor of his apartment.
Mod = method, measure, manner
Modify: Make less severe or harsh or extreme
Modish: In the current fashion or style
Aldair had to dress Modish at a party.
Para = beside, alongside
Paragraph: Divide into paragraphs, as of text
Parallelogram: A quadrilateral whose opposite sides are both parallel and equal in length
Aldair had to write a paragraph in ELA for homework.
Pli = fold, bend
Simplify: When you simplify something, you make it easier or not so hard to understand.
Deploy: Place troops or weapons in battle formation
Aldair had to simplify his homework for his teacher.
