Cell changes to become specialised to do a job

A undifferentiated cell. Can develop into different types of cells
What is a embryonic stem cell
Unspecialised cell found in early embryo they have potential to change into any kind of cell
What is a adult stem cell
Unspecialised cell found in adult animals
Can turn into many cell types but not all
How can stem cells cure some diseases
Replace faulty cells for example nerve cells for this who are paralysed.
What is the controversy over stem cell research
Shouldn’t be used as they are potential humans taking away their life.
Should find another way without using embryos
Others argue that the embryos used are unwanted ones form fertility treatments should be used otherwise the would’ve been destroyed anyway
When do animals and plant cells differentiate
Animals - early stage past this differentiation is lost
Plant- plants don’t ever lose ability to differentiate
