Steganography Flashcards
1
Q
What is steganography?
A
The practice of concealing messages or information within other non-secret text or multi-media data.
2
Q
What is stegomalware?
A
Concealing executable code inside image file, and code is ran when file is opened.
3
Q
What is the difference between steganography and cryptography?
A
Steganography attempts to hide the presence of a message but cryptography does not.
4
Q
What is the LSB algorithm?
A
LSB algorithm hides payload in cover object by replacing LSB of image pixel with payload bits.
Redundancy of images means change is not immediately noticed.
5
Q
What is steganalysis?
A
- Attack on steganography
- Primary objective is hidden payload detection
- Secondary objective is extract payload
6
Q
What are some methods of steganalysis?
A
- Black-white filtering
- Difference comparison
- Statistical
- Tool Based
