Highlights humanity’s collective responsibility for societal issues such as poverty and neglect.

A crucial turning point in Scrooge’s transformation, marks the beginning of his redemption and a shift of empathy and compassion.
He starts to repent and understand the harm that his selfish acts may cause.
“are there no prisons? are there no workhouses?”
The ghost of Christmas present mocks and ridicules Scrooge by using his own words against him, in order to make him understand the cruelty of his ignorance
“God bless us everyone”
Demonstrates the importance of family, especially during times of poverty where conditions were harsh and cruel.
Religious references, the inclusivity of ‘everyone’ represents the childlike innocence of TT and how he wants the best for everyone.
