What are these aids?
A
Things used by judges to assist them in construing a statue.

Internal (Intrinsic) Aids:
A
Within the Statute itself. Short Title, Long Title, Preamble, Marginal Notes, Punctuation, Example and Schedules.

External (Extrinsic) Aids:
A
Exist outside the statute itself. Dictionaries, explanatory notes, Hansard.

A
