What is nominal data
Data that can only be measured by frequency. E.g 60 prefer chocolate, 40 prefer sweets.
What is ordinal data?
Measurements that can be put in order, rank or position.
What is interval data?
Measurements on a scale, can go into negative values. E.g. temperature.
What is repeated measures design?
All participants take part in all conditions.
What is independent groups design?
Participants only take part in one condition of the IV.
Type I error?
False positive: when you accept the hypothesis in error when it should’ve been rejected. Occurs when level of significance is too lenient.
Type II error?
False negative: when you accept the null hypothesis when should’ve been rejected. Occurs if level of significance is too stringent.
