variables
measurable conditions, events, characteristics, behaviors, etc.
quantitative data
data measured in numbers
continuous variable
variables that can take on any number between a minimum and maximum
frequency table
a table to show how often something occured
bar graph
horizontal or vertical bars displaying data
stemplot
stem shows first digit and leaf shows all possible ending digits
time series graph
data occuring over specific time ranges
causation
variables relating to each other. a change in one causes a change in another
median
measure of central tendency from smallest to largest
individuals
what the data is representing/ describing
categorical data
variables that represent names, labels, groups, non numerical values
distribution
data that is grouped and shown frequency, where it falls
relative frequency table
a data showing proportions or percentages of the frequency of data
pie chart
circular chart divided into slices to show proportion. arc represent quantitative value
