Stats Flashcards
Points needed for binomial distribution?
-probability needs to stay constant (shows they are independent)
-Have n
If a and b are mutually exclusive?
P(AuB)=P(A)+P(B)
If a and b are independent?
P(AnB) = P(A) x P(B)
Mutually exclusive?
Not being able to happen at the same time or together (impossible)
Independent?
One event occurring doesn’t change the probability of the other event
Outlier equation?
Lower outlier- Q1 - (1.5 x IQR)
Upper outlier- Q3 + (1.5 x IQR)
Positive skew?
Median closer to LQ than UQ
Negative skew?
Median closer to UQ than LQ
What happens to median if outlier is removed?
-stay the same or decrease (we don’t know unless we have all the individual values)
How to work out P(AnB’)
P(A) - P(AnB)
