Simplification process

A
  • removing non-significant interaction terms
  • removing non-significant quadratic or other non-linear terms
  • removing non-significant explanatory variables
  • grouping together factor levels that do not differ from one another
  • Transforming data to produce a better (simpler) fit, either by square root, log natural or 1-reciprocal.
