Q

What does the value of 95th percentile (say T95) mean?

A

95% of the population is below T95 and 5% is above. In other words, if a take a random variable, the probability that it is lesser than T95 is 0.95.

Q

What is statistical inference in terms of sample and population?

A

Statistical Inference is linking the sample to the population, while making some assumptions. For example, sample median (estimator) will estimate the population median (estimand)
