What is the statistical infrequency definition?
A
- infrequent = abnormal
- measure certain characteristics and behaviours and distribute across the general population
- 5% not in general mean = abnormal
- no comments on quality of life or nature of mental disorders

What are the Strengths of statical infrequency’s?
A
✅ objective - used data a clear cut off point for deviation made - objective
✅ no judgments or values - no judgments made on abnormality - ie homosexuality seem as infrequent and not abnormal

What is the limitations?
A
❌ unclear where to create the line of who is abnormal and who is normal - how far can you deviate before being abnormal.
❌ not all abnormal behaviours are infrequent- 10% of populations have experienced depression= common in this stats infrequency therefore normal. But is an abnormal feature.
