How do you form a standing wave?
A
- Wave sent along a string
- Reflects back at fixed end
- Reflected wave has same frequency and amplitude
- Interference occurs
- Resultant wave has double the amplitude

Always an anti-node at an open end. Fundamental frequency = 1st harmonic

Closed at one end open at the other. Always an anti-node at an open end. Always a node at a closed end.
