States of Matter Flashcards
Solid
State of matter that has a fix shape and volume.
Liquid
State of matter that has a fix volume but not a fix shape.
Gas
State of matter that has not fix shape and volume.
Properties
The factors or the features of an object or substances.
Diffusion
The movement of their particles which spreading of one substance through another.
Mass
A quantity of matter in a substance or an object which is measured by kilograms.
Volume
How much space is taken up in object or a substance.
Fluid
A object or substance that flows and have no fix shape such as gases and liquids.
Melting Point
The temperature which turns solid substance turns into a liquid or a liquid turns into a solid.
Boiling point
The temperature where liquid turns into gas.
Sublimation
It is when the solid change into a gas (or from a gas into a solid) without first becoming a liquid.
Precipitation
It is when falling water in solid or liquid form. The type of precipitation depends mostly on the temperature in the clouds and the air around them.
Meteorologist
It is a scientist that observation or take notes of the atmosphere to predict or explain the weather.
Particle Model
It is a description of the moving particles which make up all matter and how the particles behaves. The model explains the factors of solids, liquids and gases.
Expands
It is when substance or object that has increase in size due to lots of movement.
