Yes
Does a solid have a definite volume?
Yes
Does a liquid have a definite shape?
No
Does a liquid have a definite volume?
Yes
Does a gas have a definite shape?
No
Does a gas have a definite volume?
No
Boiling is a state change where a _______ turns into a _________.
Liquid; Gas
Condensation is a state change where a _________ turns in to a _________.
Gas; Liquid
Deposition is a state change where a ________ turns into a _________.
Gas; Solid
What is the name of the state change in which a liquid turns into a solid?
Freezing
What is the name of the state change in which a solid turns into a gas?
Sublimation
What is the name of the state change in which a solid turns into a liquid?
Melting
Describe what the atoms are doing when freezing occurs. Speed, and how the atoms are arranged.
The atoms start in a liquid, where the atoms roll around each other at a moderate speed, then, as the atoms start to freeze, they slow down, until they are rigidly locked in place, with almost no movement besides some jiggling.
Describe how the atoms in a solid behave.
Atoms in a solid are rigidly locked in place, but they still jiggle a little bit.
