What is a Duty Statement?
Police officer statement as a witness- describes police involvement in an incident and include observations of the incident plus police actions, e.g. arrest.
What is an Arrest Statement?
Where a police officer does not witness an incident but arrests an individual based on relevant information.
What is a witness/ aggrieved statement?
Police officers complete an interview to obtain a witness/ victim’s account and transfer this to a statement.
What is a Loser/ Producer Statement?
Used when the individual making the statement did not see any part of the alleged offence but is reporting items lost.
What is a Victim Personal Statement?
Completed by an officer and describes, in the victim’s words, the impact of the crime.
