What was the Truman Doctrine?

That they would not go back into political isolation
That they would contain communism

That the USA would commit to economic recovery in Europe

Berlin airlift: what happened?
Stirling blockaded Eastern Germany stopping all allied supplies from getting to Berlin. The allies then had no choice but to airlift the supplies into Berlin.
By May 1949 the USSR lifted the blockade as they had lost

The relations between the two super. Powers hit an all time low
What ways the importance of NATO?
Stalin did not see it as a defensive treaty but as a direct threat against the USSR
The USA would be capable of building airbases, armed with nuclear weapons, closer to The USSR
Korea: events?
1951-1953
North Korea invaded the South and pushed them back to a small area in the South East. Un troops then pushed the north back to the Yalu river. Then the Chinese who felt threatened stepped in and pushed the UN combined forces back into South Korea. Then the UN pushed the Chinese back to the 38th parallel
