Q

Extended trail standard profile

A

Two leaves of a modified lazy 8, a barrel roll, and an over the top maneuver (normally one leaf of a cloverleaf)

17
Q

Comms for entry to extended trail from any basic formation position

A
"Ripper, next set extended trail level (1/2/3) for 2"
"2"
"Ripper 1 ready"
"Ripper 2 ready"

18
Q

Tactical Standard Profile

A

Two delayed 90 degree turns, two delayed 45 degree turns, one hook turn, a cross turn, and a rejoin. After the completion of a cross turn, an auto-shackle will be performed.

19
Q

T/F: A BD check will be performed, time and conditions permitting, before entering the pattern at the radar drop off point on all formation rides

A

TRUE

20
Q

Formation split up sequence of radio calls

A

“Knife, Alpha check, 1 is 220, 35”

“2, same”

21
Q

Formation ABORT call

A

“Ripper flight, Abort, abort abort”

22
Q

Single aircraft aborting

A

“Ripper 1 aborting”

23
Q

NORDO Deconfliction Plan after mid air collision

A

LOA HEB
Lower # Moa in shep I combined, odd throusand transition altitude, or A sector in shep II
Wingman takes Higher # MOA in Shep I, Even thousand transition altitude, or B sector MOA in shep II

24
Q

Radio Failure/Blind rejoin

A

Rejoin point is center radial and center DME of assigned MOA and squawk 7600. Use TAS. Orbit at 30 degrees of left bank for the Flight Lead and 30 degrees of right bank for the wingman at 180 KNOTS

Nordo leaves at JOKER and functional aircraft at BINGO

25
Q

Nordo altitudes

A

FL will orbit at 11,000 (low area) 15,000 continuous, and 17,000 (high area)

Wingman orbits at +/- 1000. Do not cross base altitude

26
Q

Meaning of Visual

A

Can see aircraft in formation

27
Q

No Joy

A

Cannot see aircraft outside of formation

28
Q

Blind

A

Cannot see aircraft in formation

29
Q

Shackle

A

One weave, a single crossing of flight paths, maneuver to adjust/regain formation parameters
