mask and face and eye protection when anticipating splashing of body fluids
PPE is disposed of in client’s room
consider room replacement for client safety
private room is needeed if client cant maintain hygiene
cohort clients with same organism
avoid placing clients on isolation precautions ins room with immunocompromised; those with open wounds; have anticipated long stays
ensure clients are 3ft apart use privacy curtain between beds to limit direct contact
clean equipment
discard needles and sharps in appropriate containers; don’t recap
change protective attire and perform hand hygiene between patients in the same room
place contaminated linens in appropriate receptible
clean spills with solution of bleach and water
