Legislative Mandate for Occurance Reporting
IMPORTANT
Its is the duty of the Fire marshal to keep record of ALL reported fires reported, in order to ?
- Develop and maintain what ?
- Conduct studies in respect to what ?

The FPPA, requires ALL assistants to the fire marshal to

Choosing the Right Response Type
VERY IMPORTATNT
Response Type
When there are two choices of response type
THAT SEEM TO MATCH the incident.
- You shall Classify the incident by what action?
- Classify the incident - by the fire department action taken on scene!
For example: #76 chest pain/heart attack and #703 Defib used
76 is what the call came in as
703 is the action we did
Choosing the Right Response Type

After you’ve chosen the appropriate response type. You may enter a brief note that ?

There are three choices when choosing the correct
“fire” REPORT type.

- 03
(this is the choices for report type when there was a fire)
01 - Fire
02- Explosions
03 - No Loss Outdoor fire

01 - Fire
- This is for fires involving what ?
- Regardless of what ?
- for fires involving structures, vehicles or open areas regardless of property losses, injuries or death

02- Explosion
- Use when an explosion occurs prior to or during what?
- OR a combustion explosion that does NOT result in what?
- Use when an explosion occurs prior to or during a fire,
- or a combustion explosion that does NOT result in a fire and may or may not result in dollar loss

If you see “Fire” but IT WAS CONTROLLED then perhaps these response types are applicable

Controlled means?
- That persons/property are not what ?
- The department does not what ?
- that persons/property are not endangered and the fire department does not have to intervene to control the fire

If you see “Fire” but IT WAS CONTROLLED then perhaps these response types are applicable:

- (36) Authorized controlled ?

- 23 - Open Air burning/unauthorized controlled burning (No uncontrolled fire)
- 36 - Authorized Controlled Burning (complaint)
Smoke/Steam at the Scene
If you didn’t see“FIRE” but you did see“smoke/steam” which could be mistaken for or portentially become a “fire” then these response types are more applicable:

Assisting Other Fire Department
To be used when we are called to another city to provide a specific service (HAZMAT, Tanker) or a vehicle to “stand by” at one of their stations.

Assisting Other Fire Department
A response aggreement that allows the closest fire station to respond to an emergency regardless of the municipality

- 911 - Automatic Aid
Assisting Other Fire Department
A contract between participating municipalities to provide fire services where:
- A municipality has no fire department
- A municipality has a Fire Department but, their area requiring protection is too far removed from one of its stations to provide protective protection
