What is standard deviation a measure of?
A
= measure of how to spread out all the repeats from the mean

Advantages of sd compared to range?
A
= shows spread of data around the mean- range is only difference between highest and lowest value
= sd reduces the effects of anomolaities
= sd can be used to indicate whether a difference in result is due to chance
