What is a stakeholder?
People and organisations that are affected by the actions made by a business.
What is an internal stakeholder?
People or organisations inside the business.
What is an external stakeholder?
People or organisations outside the business.
Internal stakeholders - what do the owners/ shareholders want from the business?
High profits and a safe investment.
Internal stakeholders - what do the employees (including managers) want from the business?
Good pay, job security and opportunities for promotion.
External stakeholders - what do the suppliers want from the business?
Fair prices and to be paid on time.
External stakeholders - what do the customers want from the business.
Good quality and to be provided with goods and services.
External stakeholders - what do the lenders (banks) want from the business?
To receive interest and to be repaid.
External stakeholders - what do the government want from the business?
To receive the correct amount of tax on time.
External stakeholders - what do the local communities want from the business?
Jobs for the local people and no pollution of any sort.
