Spigots at top allow end frames to fit together
Sockets receive end frame spigot or castors
What are castors made from?
Solid rubber or nylon
How far above the should the platform should the guests rail be?
3 foot (914mm) And 3foot 9inches (1143 min)
What dose a brace do?
Gives stability
It can be horizontal or inclined
What are platforms? And what must they be?
They are to provide flat and stable working surface.
Platform formed by securing resin bonded plywood to light allow tubular frames
How high must a toe bar be?
Must be at least 150mm or 6inch
What’s the difference between type 1 and type 2 buffers?
Type 2 has a carved groove along the length
In staging how often do you carry out scheduled maintenance?
3 monthly
What is a span?
Used when a longer working platform is required.
Span structures available in 3 widths
What is a closed hook and what type of latches are there ?
Fitted to guard rails, braces and outriggers , where positive locking is required.
Latches can be leaf spring or torsion spring
What is an open hook ?
Fitted to platforms where dislodgement is unlikely , no locking device
What is a collet ?
Externally tapered to suit end frame socket taper.
What are the 2 types of outriggers
Rectangular- available in 1 size
Curved - 2 sizes
