Stages Of Learning Flashcards
Cognitive
We demonstrate to give performers a mental image of the skill.
Performers think carefully about their actions and try to understand how to copy the demonstrations and instructions.
Associative stage
This is where you learn the skill.
Going from competent beginner to accomplished performer.
You experience massive improvements through practise, practise, practise.
Autonomous stage
Top level of skill- reached after effective practise.
Actions are fluent, efficient and automatic.
Concentrate on the details.
Motor programme is fully developed - fine action control.
Fine changes needed to execute the skill better and progress is slower
Learning
A permanent change in behaviour as a result of practise
Performance
A temporary occurrence that can change from time to time because of many external and internal influences.
