Q

Evaluation of stages of attachment

A

Research to support: John Bowlby- babies can only develop multiple attachments after they’ve formed a single main attachment ( proves specific attachment)
Van Ljzendoorn believes babies formed multiple attachments immediately

Q

Evaluating the research into stages of attachment

A

— lacks population validity- sample is 60 babies from glasgow so findings can’t be generalised
— main issue with study is temporal validity as study was done in 1960s and family dynamics have changed since then so results can’t be applied to modern day
— Real life application- can help plan when they best time for a child to enter daycare is (after specific)
