Stack Size, Pot Size, And Pot Commitment Flashcards
On the flop, what is a small pot hand?
An overpair to the board, top pair-top kicker, or worse.
On the flop, what is a big pot hand?
A set or better, or a hand with a strong draw to a straight or a flush.
What type of hand is two pair on the flop?
An intermediate hand that’s very likely to be best on the flop, but can easily be overtaken on the turn and river.
What is your goal by the river with a monster hand?
To get the pot large enough so that a final all-in bet isn’t such a big overbet that your opponent goes away, but instead offers him attractive enough odds to call.
What is a way ahead/way behind situation?
A situation where you’re either way ahead of your opponents range or way behind so there’s not much reason to put more money in the pot because you’ll only be called by better hands.
The sequence of betting the flop and checking the turn is indicative of what?
Both sides have nothing better than a pair.
