Stack-3 Recap Flashcards
Differentiate between cell and battery
Cell- Used when SMALL amount of current is required.
- current flows from positive to negative side in SAME
cell
- Always PORTABLE
- EX: Clocks, Watches, calculators
Battery- Used when MORE amount of current is required.
- Current flows from positive side of one cell to
negative side of OTHER cell.
- NOT always PORTABLE
- EX: Radio, Transistors, torches and remote-controlled toys
Electricity can be generated from
Wind, water (when moving), sunlight and manure from animal waste.
Define electric current.
Flow of electric charges through a conductor.
Define electric circuit, in your own words.
ARRANGEMENT thru which ELECTRIC CURRENT flows in a CONDUCTOR when CONNECTED to a source of electricity.
Appliance detecting the presence of current in the circuit.
