Why do SSC’s make sense in Primary molars
- Inclined planes of cusps less steep; interrelationship of cusps with grooves with opposing teeth less precise
- Broad Contacts
- Squat, bulbous appearance/narrow occlusal table/buccal and lingual surfaces slope outward to form a prominent bulge just occlusal to the gingival margin
- Definite cervical constriction at the CEJ
- Gingival tissue is paler in color and has a preponderance of CT over blood vessels. Gingival margin is rounded vs knife edge as seen in adult dentition where it meets the tooth
