what is posture?
The position in which you hold your body upright against the force of gravity, while sitting standing or moving.
why is it important to understand the correct position of the body parts and the process of adjusting them.
so that they are equally stacked on top of one another in a healthy position.
what does good posture require?
good posture requires the least amount of muscle activity to maintain an upright position
list five benefits of good health
- allows us to be active with more energy, their stress and fatigue
- allows musclo-skeletal system to hold the body parts in place.
- allow space for vital organs to function at optimal efficiency
- allows you to breathe more efficiently
- promote efficient functioning of the nervous system
What is the ideal alignments of the head?
floats on the top of the neck with ears is parallel to the floor
What is the ideal alignment for the shoulders?
relax, shoulder blades down and inward
What is the ideal alignments for the hips?
level and not scoop forward or back
What is the ideal alignment for the feet?
weight is equally distributed across both feet and even distributed across three points ( under big toe, little toe, and front of the heel).
What does anterior mean? What is its partners name?
Front or in front. Posterior
What does posterior mean? What is its partner word?
Back or behind. Anterior
what does medial mean??

towards the midline. lateral
what is proximal? what is its partners name?
Close to the center of the body, or the attachment. Distal
What is distal? what is its partners name?
Close to the extremities (end/edge) of the body. Eg hand. Proximal
What is superficial? what is its partners name?
Near the skin, or surface layer. Deep
What is deep? what is its partners name?
Below the superficial layer. Superficial
what is superior? what is its partners name?
Near the top of the body. Inferior
What is inferior? what is its partners name?
Further away from the top of the body. Superior.
