Multiple Tier timeline
A timeline that displays relationships between events and places which are occuring simultaneosly ( at the same time)
Timeline Labels
BCE/CE
BC/AD
events occur on the timeline moving from the larger number to the small and then continue in increasing order (CE/AD).
Monarchy
King or Queen in power
Power is passed through the family line
In some cases, power is shared between the monarch and other parts of government/constitution
Oligarchy
A small group of people hold the power
The group may gain power through force, wealth, status, race, education, ect.
Representative Democracy
Citizens hold the power
Citizens elect representatives to make decisions
Can also be called indirect
Direct Democracy
No representatives
Citizens participate in daily government functions
Only works for smaller regions/systems
Dictatorship
One lead who has complete control over citizens
Power is taken by force
Citizens are not represented
Theocracy
A government that that focuses on one particular religion using one god or supreme being
This must occur alongside another form of government
Buddhism
Originated in India
Buddha was the founder
Meditation
Do not believe in personal creator
try to understand nature in themselfs
Hinduism
Originated in Pakistan/India
Believe in Brahman-God (also worship other gods)
Reincarnation
follower believe a person determines their destiny through the ways they live their life (Karma)
Islam
Originated in Mecca, Saudi Arabia
Founded by the prophet Muhammad
One god named Allah
The Qur’an us the holy text
Worship in mosque
Islam is thought to be a complete way of life (5 Pillars)
Christianity
Originated in Israel
Jesus Christ was the founder
Bible is holy text
Worship in a church
Has man denominations/parts
Christanity is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ (10 Commandments)
Judaism
Originated in Israel
Founded by Hebrew people/ Abraham.
Torah is the holy text
Worship in a synagogue Jews believe in one god who created the universe

A map that identifies locations and displays lines and borders separating cities, countries, continents, ect.
