What was the idea from the Philosphs for beliefs and religion?
If a belief could not stand up to reason (the ability to think critically and draw logical conclusions, demonstrated by experiment) then it had to be discarded
Women were important to the French Revolution how?
They were important to spreading new ideas. They met at salons to discuss topics with intellectuals. Spoke about government religion and society.
Explain how life was difficult for peasants in France.
They had to give 10% of there income to the church(their income was already so small) had little access to education, victims of disease. Weren’t allowed to chase/kill animals that destroyed crops because they were hunted by rich.
Why was Louis XIV in so much debt?
Country was already in debt, they were fighting wars that they shouldn’t have, only taxed poor who didn’t have any money.

Knowledge is only possible through experience with your senses. Monarchs would have a hard time proving divine right of kings therefore would have 0 power. Parliament would love it because if the Monarchs couldn’t prove it they would have no power so parliament would have more power
What was the flaw in the voting system of the three estates? How did the 3rd estate want them fixed?
3rd estate had twice as many delegates but still voted as a bloc (1st and 2nd estate usually voted together) Wanted 2 votes and wanted equal say vote by delegate not bloc. Wanted to vote by person not bloc many clergy used to be 3rd estate

Killed 37,000 people in a year and half, couldn’t speak or act or think without a chance of someone accusing you of being counter revolutionary always in constant fear

It was the form government after Robespierre. Only people with property could vote for this government.

Were 3 different groups of people 1st estate clergy 2% 2nd estate was nobles 2% and 3rd Estate was the Bourgeoisie 97% pop Haven’t met in 150 years

It was that the 3rd estate would continue to meet in the Royal tennis court until France had a new government

When a mob attacked royal prison and captured it killed governor. They freed prisoners

Peasants feared retribution so they stormed the chateaux of the rich burning and killing them (100s)
