A

-The Supreme court has the ability to review actions by the government and decide if they are constitutional or not. The Marbury v. Madison gave the Supreme Court the power to strike down a law of Congress. It set a precedent.

A

-The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States. It also gave control of the Key port of New Orleans to the United States.

A

Thomas Jefferson believed in a strict interpretation of the Constitution. Therefore, he did not have the power to actually buy Louisiana. He had to use the “elastic clause” to buy it which was more of a Federalist, “loose interpretation” idea.
