What is erosion?
The gradual wearing away of something
Define attrition
Wearing away of rocks as they bump into eachother
Define hydraulic action
The wearing away of the river bed and banks from the force of the water
Define corrosion
The wearing away of the river bed by stones and gravel
How are waterfalls formed?
The erosion of soft rock downwards creating as drop
What’s a meander?
A bend in the river. It’s formed by erosion of the side soft the river in a curved pattern due to current
What’s an ox bow lake?
A meander that had been completely cut of by sediment
What’s vertical erosion?
Erosion going downwards making the channel bed deaper
What’s lateral erosion?
Erosion going across making the river wider
What are the 4 types of ice sheets?
Ice sheets, ice caps, valley glaciers and snow patches

Volcanic erruptions, sunspots
What’s one human reason of glacial retreats?
Global warming

Glacial ice melting away and not reaching as far as it normally does
