endocardium
Name the line with the “B”
Myocardium
Name the red line below the two blue lines
Epicardium
Why is the left ventricle larger than the right one?
This is because the left ventricle has to pump blood all the way around the body, but the right ventricle only has to pump it to the lungs. The left has to create more pressure than the left.
Define pulse
- difference between the systolic and diastolic pressure
- Throbbing of arteries (pulse)
- pressure wave caused by expansion and recoil of arteries
Define Blood pressure (BP)
Force per unit area exerted on the wall of the blood vessel by the blood
What does the pulmonary circuit do?
Pulmonary circulation is the system of blood vessels and associated tissues forming the part of the cardiovascular system that carries oxygen-poor (“deoxygenated”) blood away from the heart, to the lungs, and returns oxygen-rich (“oxygenated”) blood from the lungs back to the heart.
