Take temp, BP, HR - pulse, RR - breaths/min, O2 sat
What is Sepsis?
Life threatening inflammatory reaction to an infection
Signs of Sepsis
Temp <36 or >38
HR >90bpm
RR>22/min
WBC <4000 or >12,000
What is the sepsis 6
IN
IV Abx
Fluids
O2
OUT
Lactate
Blood
Urine
Tx for infection
Provide drainage
Remove source of infection: extirpate/XLa
Abx if required
What is Ludwig’s angina?
Bilateral red swelling in submandibular region
Symptoms of Ludwig’s angina
Difficulty breathing/swallowing/drooling
Increased HR,RR,Temp,WBC - need MAX FAX
