A

Volunteered based usually for amateurs, there will always be a lead therapist with the same routine for everyone. 10-15 mins, quick pace. Make sure clients sign in

A

after an event can be onsite or in office. Onsite: 10-15 minutes, stimulating and quick. In office can last up to 60 minutes using any modality to relax the athlete

A

performed between events, muscle specific, 10-15 mins, fast and stimulating. Performed by therapist who is part of the athletics team

Define a concentric muscle contraction

A

movement is greater than the force, contraction causes muscles to shorten. Ex: A bicep curl, the bicep is contracting and creating more force to lift the weight up

Define an eccentric muscle contraction

A

the force is greater, causes the muscle to lengthen, due to greater opposing force
Ex: a bicep negative. When moving from a 90 to a 180 the force is greater causing that bicep muscle to lengthen
