How does an athletes body change during exercise?
A
- The athlete uses up much of the glucose in their body during respiration
- The athlete generates heat as they respire more
- The athlete sweats more to try to cool themselves down (this sweating results in the loss of water and mineral ions, eg sodium)

A
Sugar keeps the glucose levels in the body high helping the athlete exercise for a longer period of time.
