Sports 286 - 348 Flashcards
HAGL?
Humeral avulsion of inferior glenohumeral ligament, used to fixed open, now can be done arthroscopically
AMBRI?
Atraumatic, multi-directional, bilateral shoulder dislocation/subluxation that responds to rehabilitation and occasionally inferior capsular shift
Focus on closed kinetic chain exercises
TUBS?
Traumatic unilateral dislocations with a Bankart lesion requiring surgery
(90% recurrence rate with nonoperative management)
ALSPA?
Anterior labroligamentous periosteal sleeve avulsion or medialized Bankart is a medial anerioinferior labral tear displaced medially by intact medial scapular periosteum
GLAD?
Glenolabral articular disruption (labral tear extending into glenoid cartilage)
How do you grade a PCL injury?
- Tibia anterior to femoral condyles
- Complete, anterior tibia flush with the femoral condyles
- Tibia is posterior to femoral condyles, indicative of ACL or PLC injuries or both
Chronic PCL deficiency leads to what pattern of chondral damage?
PFC, and medial femoral condyle
If you have a knee that opens at 0 degrees with valgus stress testing what is the diagnosis?
MCL with either ACL or PCL. At least it means concurrent injury.
What is a avulsion of the medial femoral condyle insertion of the MCL called?
Pellegrini-Stieda sign
What four tests assess for PLC injury?
- External rotation recurvatum test
- Posterolateral drawer test
- Reverse pivot shift (ext. ext rotation. valgus)
- Dial test (increased ER test)
Schenk Classification of Knee Dislocations
KD1. ACL or PCL plus either MCL or LCL
KD2. ACL and PCL
KD3. ACL and PCL and one collateral
KD4. ACL and PCL and MCL and LCL
