Spleen/Stomach Flashcards
Stomach Channel Pathway
Lateral side of nose (LI20) -> meets bladder channel -> enter upper gum -> round lips -> CV24 mentolabial groove ->ST 1
Cheek (Stomach 5) splits upward -> to forehead
and downward -> ST 9 downward
Splitting again at St 36 -> 1 way to lateral middle toe (tibial branch) -> 1 way dorsum of foot, splitting to Great toe SP1 and lateral tip 2nd toe (St 45)
Stomach Channel Indication
- GI disease
- Disorder to head, face, eye, nose, mouth, tooth
- Mental disorders
- Disorder in regions along pathway of the channel
Stomach Channel Pathological Manifestations
- Borborygmus, abdominal distention, edema, epigastric pain, vomiting, hunger, epistaxis
- Deviation of mouth, congested and sore throat
- Pain in chest, abdomen, lateral aspect of lower limbs
- Fever and mania
Stomach Collateral
Start at ST 40 splits -> Spleen meridian
-> lateral aspect of tibia -> throat
meets with QI of all yang channels at neck area
Stomach Divergent
Derive from St meridian at thigh -> up through Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Esophagus ->mouth, nose, eye
Stomach Muscle Region
2nd, Middle, 4th toes -> dorsum of foot splitting to: Spine, eye/ear
Spleen Meridian
Starting Tip of Big toe (Spleen 1) -> runs medially up to abdomen -> Sp/St -> root of the tongue
Spleen Meridian Indication
- Disorder of Spleen/Stomach
- Gynecologic disorder
- Disorder of regions along the pathway of channel (foot problem, swelling of foot/knee, bloating, diarrhea)
Spleen Meridian Pathological Manifestation
- Belching, vomiting, abdominal distention, epigastric pain
- Loose stools, heaviness of body, jaundice, lassitude
- Stiffness and pain root of the tongue, swelling & cold in medial aspect of thigh and knee
Collateral of Spleen
- Spleen 4 -> Stomach/Abdomen
2. Great duo -> Sp 21 lateral side rib cage
Collateral of Spleen Pathology
Excess: Abdominal, colicky pain
Deficiency: Abdominal distention
Divergent meridian of Spleen
Deriving from Spleen meridian of thigh SP 12 -> Converges with Divergent meridian of Stomach -> Enters St. Sp -> Throat -> Tongue
Muscle Region of Spleen
Medial side of big toe -> Medial malleolus -> hip -> external genitalia -> up abdomen -> chest -> ending in Spine
