Abecedarian
A beginner or someone learning the basics of something.
Example: “She took an abecedarian approach to painting, starting with simple shapes and colors.”
Avoirdupois
A system of weights used in the U.S. and U.K., or simply body weight.
Example: “The wrestler’s massive avoirdupois made him a formidable opponent in the ring.”
Acquiescence
Silent or passive agreement without protest.
Example: “Her acquiescence to the unfair rules showed she didn’t want to cause trouble.”
Amoretto
A small, cherub-like cupid often seen in art.
Example: “The painting featured an amoretto playfully hovering above the romantic couple.”
Ankh
An ancient Egyptian symbol representing life.

Beaucoup
A French word meaning “a lot” or “many.”

An ancient type of ship with two rows of oars on each side.

Borborygmous
Relating to the rumbling or gurgling sound made by the movement of gas or fluids in the intestines.
