Compound adjective
a single adjective made up if more than one word - often linked together with a hyphen to show they are part of the same adjective.
Conceit
a kind of metaphor that compares two very unlike things in a surprising or clever way.
Contexts
the parts of a written or spoken statement that precede or follow a specific word passage.
Dialogue
a conversation between two or more people as a feature of a book, play or film.
Didactic
intended to teach, particularly having moral instruction as an ulterior motive.
Dramatic irony
when the audience or reader knows what is happening/going to happen however the character does not.
dramatic monologue
a poem in the form of a speech or narrative by an imagined person
dysphemism
a derogatory or unpleasant term used instead of a pleasant or neutral one
elision
the omission of a sound or syllable when speaking (I’ll, we’ll)
