Aberration
A departure from what is normal or expected, often viewed as unusual or unwelcome.
E.g. The warm winter was an aberration from the usual freezing temperatures, leaving scientists concerned about climate patterns.
Brusque
Being blunt, curt, or abrupt in manner, often coming across as rude.
E.g. His brusque reply caught her off guard, as she hadn’t expected such a curt and abrupt response.
Carmine
A rich, vivid red colour, often with a slightly purplish tint.
E.g. The sunset painted the sky in shades of carmine, with deep red hues blending into the orange horizon.
Diligent
Showing careful and persistent effort in one’s work or duties.
E.g. Her diligent study habits paid off when she earned top marks on her exams, showing how hard work and focus can lead to success.
Ethereal
Extremely delicate and light, seeming too perfect or otherworldly.
E.g. The mist rising over the lake at dawn had an ethereal quality, as if it were part of a dream.
Indistinguishable
Not able to be identified as different or distinct; identical or very similar.
E.g. The twins were so alike that they were almost indistinguishable from each other, leaving their friends constantly confused.
Penchant
A strong or habitual liking for something or a tendency to do something.
E.g. She has a penchant for collecting vintage books, her shelves lined with rare and well-worn volumes from past centuries.
Staid
Serious, reserved, and unadventurous, often suggesting a sense of stability and reliability.
E.g. Despite his staid appearance and serious demeanour, he surprised everyone with his sharp sense of humour.
Vociferous
Expressing feelings or opinions in a loud and forceful way.
E.g. The protesters were vociferous in their demands, their loud chants echoing through the streets.
Wily
Skilled at gaining an advantage, especially through deceit or cleverness.
E.g. The wily detective cleverly uncovered the clues that led him to solve the seemingly unsolvable case.
