Speed Flashcards
Distance
the extent or amount of space between two things
Speed
the rate at which someone or something moves or operates or is able to move or operate.
Time
the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.
Scalar
(of a quantity) having only magnitude, not direction.
Vector
a quantity having direction as well as magnitude, especially as determining the position of one point in space relative to another.
Displacement
the action of moving something from its place or position.
Velocity
the speed of something in a given direction.
Distance. Time graph
If an object moves along a straight line, the distance travelled can be represented by a distance-time graph.
Acceleration
The change in velocity per second is known as the acceleration of a body
Force
A force causes a stationary object to move
Contact forces
Two objects have to be in contact for these forces to occur
Non-contact force
Two object do not have to be in contact for these forces to occur
Interaction pair
This is when one thing applies pressure to a surface
Newton meter
Forces can be measured by it
Force meter
A digital way to measure force
