• 24th June 2010 she became Australia’s 27th PM and the first woman to hold office
• she was Deputy PM in Kevin Rudd’s labour government 2007-2010
• she was Minister for employment and workplace relations, education and social inclusion
• defeated in leadership ballot by Rudd on 26th June 2013
• he was sworn in as PM the following day (27th June)
• she retired from politics on 5th August 2013
