Person delivering a speech
Orator
Informative speech
informs the audience about a particular topic or subject
Persuasive speech
used to persuade an audience to do something or believe something
Entertainment speech
designed to grab an audience attention and amuse them while giving a speech
Impromptu speech
“off the cuff” no preparation ahead of time
Extemporaneous speech
uses notes to “map out” what the speaker is going to say not read directly off of a page
Memorized speech
a rote recitation of prepared text that the speaker has memorized before hand
Rote
word for word exactly the same repetition
Introduction
who you are and what you are going to talk about
Body
the fact and key points of a speech
Conclusion
wrapping it up and sometimes a short summary
Volume
how loud or soft ones voice is when speaking
Rate of speech
how quickly or slowly the person is speaking
Articulation
the clarity of the words that are being spoken
Pitch
refer to how high and low a speakers voice goes when speaking
