What factors should you include when you choose a speech style?
Audience, Topic, Purpose, Location.
This speech style is characterized by the COMPLETE ABSENCE of social inhibitions. Participants share a very close relationship.
Intimate speech style.
In this style, participants share a private vocabulary, endearments, inside jokes. Done in private. Grammar is not important, and non-verbal cues are used.
Intimate speech style.
What is the casual speech style?
Relaxed or informal dialogue between friends, peers, family etc. Thus, the participants can use a group language.
The characteristics of this speech style are; conversational tone, slangs, informal etc., General words are used, interruptions are common, and nicknames might be used.
Casual speech style.
This style is considered to be the most operational. Used in semi-formal situations where the speaker provides bg infos.
Consultative speech style.
In this style, interruptions are allowed to signal that the listener understands the speaker.

Used in formal situations. One-way communication. Planned.
In this style, there is a lack of listener participation. The listener does not participate. Used in conferences, official meetings etc.
Formal speech style.
Also called the oratorical style. It is the most formal style.
Frozen speech style.
