Newborn screening

A

-Between 24-72 hours post birth
-Heel stick
- touch heel to paper and allow drop to soak paper
- air dry at room temperature

Blood donation

A

For others-

- weigh more than 110 lbs
-Donations at least 56 days (8 weeks) apart

For self-
-Hemoglobin must be ll g/dl

Limited to 1%-5% of total volume within a 24 hour period
-10% of totaled volume over 8 - week period
Infant blood volume=
Lbs → kg (lbs÷2.2)
